My Story

Thank you for spending time with me on my Blog. This front page is a brief introduction to myself, my family and my business! I hope you enjoy your visit and that you come back again soon.

I currently live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Australia but it wasnt always like that. You see after moving from our home in Scotland, searching for our own private Idaho, we found ourselves not quite living the Australian dream. My sponsored visa placed me in the middle of the goldfields region of outback Western Australia, some 700km from Perth, in an area that reached summer temps of 47degrees. My Soulmate

This is my soulmate Shona, my beautiful wife of 11 years. She is an Accountant by profession and an all round great mum the rest of the time! We met 12 and a half years ago in a nightclub of all places. We dated and pretty quickly knew it was just right! We were a perfect match and to coin a great line from the movie Ghost she certainly “completes me”!

As I said Shona and I met and dated and after 3 months we moved in together (her apartment was so much nicer than mine). After 6 months we were engaged. After a year of being together we were getting married, on Valentines Day, in the local church where Shona was Christined. 9 months later, our son Taylor was born, followed shortly there after, by Darcie. When you know it is meant to be…… you just know!

My Kids

This is Taylor age 10 and Darcie age 7 after we had just been visiting Steve Irwins Australia Zoo for Taylor’s birthday. We are all a little tired after a long day in the sun but I just love this picture.

These two little guys are the reason behind Shona and myself uprooting and moving 10000 kms around the world. We were both very happy in our home town in Ayr, Scotland and were reluctant to give it all up. We would go out for dinner and one of us would always know someone. It was an idyllic existence for us, but I could not say that for the kids.

Over here in Australia, my two children live the outdoors lifestyle. They run around in their bare feet. The sun has bleeched their hair white blonde and they are the picture of health. This is the reason why we gave up all we knew to come to the unknown. It was a leap of faith, … and its been worth it!

True Self Discovery

I have had many mentors in my life who have shaped me into the person I am today. None however have had as big an impact on the way I view life and the way I lead my life than the late Jim Rohn.
I came across this remarkable individual as I was seeking guidance on a better way to live where true wealth and happiness is achievable.
Anthony Robbins is one such individual who has taken the teachings of Jim Rohn to a whole new level. If ever there was a stamp of approval for anyone's teaching's then this was certainly one I was going to pay attention to.

I now pass on those little nuggets of wisdom throughout the many articles I have written. It is my mission to let others know that there is another way you can lead your life if you just take action and follow your dreams....

Parenting

Throughout my blog I am continually promoting that "the art of parenting is not dead" unlike many elements of the world media who seems to think that it is a lost cause.

On the contrary, I say, I have made it my passion to not only talk about the many different strategies required for being a parent in the 21st Century, but also to promote great things that are happening in the world which never seem to get the air time.

Parenting is an evolution and as long as we are prepared to evolve then your children are going to have the best start in life.

Education

It is my desire to educate as many people as possible, who want to learn new strategies, through using the power of the internet.

As you will see in my profile I have 16yrs experience as a high school teacher and as a behaviour support and pastoral care teacher. Oh, I am also a dad of 2, for over the last 10yrs. All this experience has enabled me to garnish a whole lot of strategies and tactics that work when it comes to dealing with your child whether they are 2 or a big grown up 18yr old.

I have written and I also continue to write, online digital ebooks, addressing the many topics which parenting straddles. It is an ongoing process, but I hope you enjoy my posts!
