Ask any doctor in the United States of America and he or she will tell you that the best way to lose weight and keep it off is by diet and exercise. They say that this is the only real way to shed the pounds without getting into some serious complications. So it is safe and effective.
However, as a parent with young kids at home, taking the time to go to the gym can be overly stressful because of the time it takes to just complete that one task in any given day. You have to get ready, drive to the gym, look for parking, walk to the locker room, change, squeeze in a rushed workout, run back to the locker room, change again and then maybe sit in traffic as you nervously drive back home wondering is your kid or kids are still safe in the hands of the questionable babysitter. This instills a lot of guilt for most mothers who would rather spend every spare moment of their time with their kids.
The truth is, you as a parent can actually have the best of both worlds, have your cake and eat it too, kill two birds with one stone, have it both ways Ok, I’m getting carried away here, but you get the point. You don’t have to sacrifice time with your little bundle or bundles of joy just so you can make a mad dash to the gym and squeeze in a rushed guilt ridden workout.
I have a better solution for you, and I guarantee that if you do it, you will sweat your butt off.. literally and if you remain consistent, you will lose that weight without having to leave your little ones behind to run to the gym. Yes there is a way to maintain Daddy, mommy and Baby’s health and wellness without spending money, and without even leaving the house ever again just to get some exercise.
That child of yours can will actually help you get back in shape as long as you know what to do and he or she will have a great wonderful time in the process. Here’s an example.
You child is standing in front of your, facing you. You squat down and put your hands under their arms and stand back straight up. Now, with your elbows tucked, lift your child to your face and give them a big kiss on the forehead. If you repeat this 10-15 times, your biceps will be so sore you’ll have a hard time chopping onions the next day. (I have pictures if you want to see them )
Here’s one more. Lie down on the floor and grab your child by their chest with one hand and by their waist in the other (see our site for demo) Now, raise your child up and down towards the ceiling and back to your chest and give them a kiss on their forehead once in a while. Kids enjoy this game and want to participate. This is not only a great way to bond with your child, It’s also a great way to work out your chest muscles without having to leave the family room for a trip to the gym.
You can actually train your entire body by using your child as “weight” and get the same benefits as you would with a dead dumbbell except this time you actually get to spend time with your child and enhance that bond between the two of you.
So, go ahead and give it a shot. It you want more examples on how you can spend time with your child, while using their weight to get your daily exercise and bond with them at the same time, we have them and they’re all demonstrated in pictures to make it easy for you to follow. And as you do this, you will also find yourself inventing new exercises for you and your child.
